Leighaven Bernese Mountain Dogs

Our family lives in a country setting in the midst of the Alberta prairies.
Rolling hills of farmland surround the yard where we raise our children and Bernese Mountain Dogs.
The Bernese Mountain dogs are an integral part of our family and very much involved in all of our daily activities; from chasing the toboggons down the hill in winter, running through the sprinkler on a hot summer day, to giving the children rides in the cart, and romping through the fields during family walks.
Beyond our Berners being our best friends and companions, we enjoy showing in conformation, and training in obedience and draft. And, while not always the most graceful on the agility course, some of the dogs greatly enjoy this time spent with us as well. Warren has combined his two greatest ambitions, cabinetmaking and Bernese Mountain dogs, into the creation of his own line of carts for the Bernese Mountain dogs to pull.
Our goal at Leighaven is to breed top quality Bernese Mountain Dogs that are sound in type, temperament and health. The health and longevity of our Bernese Mountain dogs are a priority, and to that end our litters are planned very carefully. We pay strict attention to the health clearances and pedigrees of all the dogs used in our breeding program. It is important that our dogs have solid body types that exemplify the magnificent beauty of this breed. Our Berners are lovingly raised on our farm alongside our family, and every day we are amazed by their loving nature and loyalty.
Thank you for taking time to share in this special part of our lives - our Bernese Mountain Dogs.

applications for our 2011 litters, although you can anticipate being placed on a waiting list for future litters as this time. It is always a wise idea to get your name in well before the time you are hoping for a puppy.
