We generally plan a couple of litters each year.  Our litters are orchestrated very carefully in our attempt to preserve the integrity of this magnificent breed.  Temperament, type, and health issues are all things we take into consideration when we select the dogs that we will use in our breeding program.  All of the dogs in our breeding program have health clearances for orthopedics, eyes, heart, thyroid and vwd before they are placed in our breeding program.  Our top priority as breeders is producing healthy puppies with strong orthopedics as well as good temperaments. Our goal is to produce high quality, healthy puppies that will live long and happy lives as part of the families they are placed with.

Our puppies are raised in the house with lots of socialization.   In addition to round the clock care by us and their Mama, our children take an acitve role in caring for the puppies and they are surrounded with activity and affection.   At four weeks of age, our puppies move out to the special puppy area of our kennel for part of the day to spend time with the big dogs as well as ourselves, and it is at this time that we invite visitors to view the puppies so that the puppies get exposed to many different people and experiences.

When there are puppies at our home, several open houses are organized so that prospecitve puppy owners can come and meet the dogs and spend time with the puppies.  In addition, private appointments can be arranged for your family to come out to see our kennel and meet our dogs at any time.

If you are  genuinely interested in having one of our Berner puppies join your family, we invite prospective puppy people to contact us via email.

We want to ensure that all of our puppies are placed in wonderful, loving homes so that they may live their lives to their fullest potential.  To this end, we will have you fill out an application to join our list of prospective puppy owners.    By understanding your family situation and requirements for a dog we are better placed to make sure that a Bernese is suited to your lifestyle and that we place the right puppy with you.   We have an ongoing waiting list, and to be placed on the list, we have a questionaire to fill out, which you can find listed at the bottom of this page.

Once your puppy arrives home, it is our hope that your Berner will become a treasured part of your family.   It is important to keep up the socialization that has been instilled in your puppy from an early age by enrolling in a puppy class and exposing your puppy to many different experiences and environments.

It is important to us that we maintain a relationship with our owners and dogs throughout their lives.  We like to get pictures and hear updates as the puppy grows.   We are always open to discussing any issues that you might be having with your puppy, and want to help you through the process of adding a dog to your family.   Throughout the year, we offer several opportunities to get together in various Berner gatherings.  We continue to support our owners and the dogs that we produce, so if you ever need assistance we are here to help you.

Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions you may have, and keep in touch with us.   We want your experience with Bernese Mountain Dogs to be as tremendous as ours was - and continues to be.

We are expecting puppies the beginning of May from Willow and Berlynn.  We are also planning Fall 2010 litters with Nina, and are currently looking for prospective puppy owners for future litters.  It is always a good idea to get your name on our waiting list well in advance.  Please contact us by e-mail if you are interested.
